The Private Broadcasting Company RTV DEVIC was founded in 1992 by DEVIC Ltd., a private company for construction works, domestic and international general trade (both wholesale & retail), and the restaurant business in Smederevska Palanka, Serbia.
DEVIC Ltd, established in 1989, was among the first private enterprise in Serbia. Fully owned by Petar Devic and Miroslav Devic, RTV DEVIC began its operation in 1992. In the same year, the Federal Telecommunication Ministry approved a temporary frequency license for DEVIC's radio and television. By 2008, RTV DEVIC had received a permanent frequency license.
Television Devic began its work in 1996. Unlike Radio, which primarily targets at a younger audience and broadcasts exclusively pop music and contact programs, TV DEVIC attempts to satisfy the interests of all generations with an informative, political, and entertaining program structure. Reporting the democratic process and informing the audience are at the heart of RTV DEVIC’s public service mission. In accomplishing our mission, we strive to achieve and maintain the highest professional and ethical standards at all times.
Despite the difficulties during the Milosevic era in which RTV DEVIC was banned and equipment was seized from the station, we persevered becoming even stronger and more confident. This newfound strength gave RTV DEVIC an edge over our competitors in building an audience. In this competitive context, RTV DEVIC established a clear cut responsibility to maintain its high standard and to insure that the radio and TV audiences received relevant and accurate news.
Now, RTV DEVIC covers several counties in central Serbia with more than 600,000 viewers. The number of communities TV DEVIC reaches is 280,000. It covers forward communities such as Sm. Palanka, V. Plana, Mladenovac, Arandjelovac, Topola, Raca, Lapovo, Svilajnac, Despotovac, Zabari, Petrovac, Malo Crnice, and Pozarevac. It also covers portions of Smederevo, Kovin, B. Crkva, Sopot, Kucevo, Zagubica, Kragujevac, Jagodina, and Cuprija.
According to latest research conducted for IREX-PRO MEDIA by SMMRI (otherwise known as Strategic Marketing & Media Research Institute), RTV DEVIC's audience share has grown significantly over the last year, and it is continuing to reach more viewers. By being independent and uncorrupted, our TV station is gaining popularity every single day. In fact, RTV DEVIC is very proud to announce it is Serbia's second-most viewed TV station on the web.
Privatno preduze}e “DEVIC” je osnovano 1989 god. kao jedno od prvoosnovanih privatnih preduzeca u Srbiji, po tadasnjem novom zakonu o preduzecima koji je stupio na snagu 01.07.1989god.
Preduzece “DEVIC” je je privatna kompanija porodice Devic. Osnovali su ga
braca, Petar i Miroslav Devic.
Kompanija “DEVIC” je 1992 god. od tadasnjeg Saveznog ministarstva za radio veze, dobila prve privremene dozvole za Radio i Televiziju.
Radio i Televizija “DEVIC” te 1992 god. postaju prva RTV stanica u Jugoslaviji
sa dobijenom licencom. Naime te godine se po prvi put u tadasnjoj Jugoslaviji, stekla mogucnost da privatne kompanije konkurisu kod tadasnjeg Saveznog ministarstva za radio veze, za licencu za radio i televizijske stanice.
Od samog osnivanja RTV DEVIC je opredeljen za promene. Aktivno je ucestvovao u procesu demokratizacije zemlje. RTV DEVIC je slobodno se moze reci od osnivanja do danasnjih dana, postao stozer oko koga su se okupljali svi progresivni gradjani.
Kao takav RTV DEVIC je jedan od osnivaca ANEM-a (Asocijacije nezavisnih Medija).
Svoj veliki doprinos RTV DEVIC je nesebicno pruzio i u oktobarskim promenama 2000god.
TV DEVIC je 2008 god. dobio licencu za svoj rad za narednih 8 godina.
Ciljevi TV “Dević” su neprestana borba za:
-konsolidaciju i jačanje domokratskih tokova u društvu,
-stvaranje institucija pravne države i vladavine prava,
-usaglasavanje zakon naše zemlje sa zakonima medjunarodne zajednice,
-uspostavljenje principa tržišne privrede
-regionalizaciju Srbije i decentralizaciju političke i ekonomske moći,
-uključivanje Srbije u medjunarodnu zajednicu,
-denacionalizaciju oduzete imovine,
-medjunacionalnu toleranciju i manjinska prava svim nacionalnim i verskim zajednicama.
